Tadpoles are baby frogs. They can breathe only in the water. However, they grow up to have special skin that they can breathe through. The skin absorbs oxygen both in and out of the water. So, they can come out of the water to jump around.

Adult frogs develop lungs. The lungs help them use their mouths and noses to breathe on land. The balloon-like lungs also keep them from sinking.
