Earthworms come out of
the ground on rainy days. It may be because they cannot breathe under
the wet soil. But, there is another possible reason.
The raindrops make the ground vibrate. Earthworms confuse the vibration
with the sound of their predators, such as moles. So, they climb out
of the soil to run away.
They are just scared little worms. Be careful not to step on them!
