Watch Out for Them!

Earthworms come out of the ground on rainy days. It may be because they cannot breathe under the wet soil. But, there is another possible reason.

The raindrops make the ground vibrate. Earthworms confuse the vibration with the sound of their predators, such as moles. So, they climb out of the soil to run away.

They are just scared little worms. Be careful not to step on them! Jamie Shin

지렁이들은 비 오는 날 땅 속에서 나옵니다.
그것은 지렁이들이 젖은 흙 속에서 숨 쉴 수 없기 때문일 수도 있습니다.
하지만, 가능한 이유가 하나 더 있습니다.

빗방울이 땅을 진동시킵니다.
지렁이들은 그 진동을 두더지 같은 포식자의 소리로 착각합니다.
그래서 그들은 도망치기 위해 흙 밖으로 기어 나오는 것입니다.

그들은 그저 겁먹은 작은 벌레들일 뿐입니다.
그들을 밟지 않도록 조심하세요!
