Sir George Cayley

Sir George Cayley, an English aviation pioneer, created his first toy helicopter in 1784. Cayley designed many models of different aircraft, and in 1804, he successfully flew a glider model. It was the first true airplane flight in history. From 1849 to 1853, Cayley designed manned gliders. He contributed immensely to the science of flight. All his efforts made him one of the most significant figures in aviation history. Many call him the father of aviation!
