Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. He wrote the Declaration of Independence. The document expressed the Americans’ hopes of gaining freedom from British rule. Jefferson worked tirelessly to end slavery because he believed everyone was equal. He was the third president of the United States from 1801 to 1809. He continues to be among the most respected presidents in U.S. history.
