What Is a Material?

A material is something that has a shape and takes up space. Materials have various sizes, textures, colors, and weights.
A material can be used by itself or with other materials to create an object. For example, cotton is a material that can be used to make cloth for clothing. Wood is a material that can be used with other materials to build a house. Can you name a material?
