Flowery Desert

Chile’s Atacama Desert is one of the driest deserts on Earth. This land is so dry that plants cannot survive there.

However, heavy rainfall changed the arid desert to a flowering desert. Heavy rains poured down for a few months. These rains helped thousands of purple and pink flowers bloom. Many experts said that this was the result of global climate change. The rare flowers brought many people to enjoy this spectacular site.
