Biggest Rats Ever!

Australian scientists recently discovered fossils from the world’s largest rat. They lived thousands years ago in Southeast Asia. These rats were the size of small dogs. In other words, they were 10 times bigger than today’s rats.

The scientists think that the rats became extinct when humans settled there. There is evidence that people ate rats long ago.
