Marine Animals’ Plastic Diet

Scientists say that half of the world’s sea turtles eat plastic. Unfortunately, 13 million tons of plastic waste ends up in oceans every year. The turtles mistake the garbage as food. This can make the sea animals very sick and also kill them. The plastic can cut the turtles’ insides, or cause them to absorb harmful chemicals. This is avoidable if people stop littering.
