A Big Day for Facial Hair

On Oct. 3, the “World Beard and Moustache Championship” took place in Leogang, Austria. This event occurs every year in different countries. Germany hosted the first contest in 1990. This competition has gradually become more and more popular worldwide.

This year, more than 300 contestants gathered to show off their beards and moustaches. Participants compete in six different categories, like the freestyle mustache or imperial beard. Winners receive gold medals.
