A Rare Species of Whales

Tourists spotted a rare albino humpback whale along Australia’s Gold Coast on Aug. 10. An albino is something that is all white because of genetic reasons. Many animals and people can be albinos. There are only three albino humpback whales known in the world.

Experts discovered the first one, “Migaloo,” in 1991. They assume that this whale in Australia is Migaloo’s son. Australian coasts are famous for whale watching and many people visit there.
